About the event
As we celebrate our 10th Anniversary, Ann, one of our original artists, is presenting her 6th show here. She loves to paint outdoors, in beautiful places around Frederick and elsewhere in Maryland. There are a few from travels to tropical places--Key West, Cuba, Curacao, and Aruba.
Shape shifting is cloaked in mystery with legends about animals assuming human form—people and animals interacting with the natural world. The world we live in actually provides a constantly changing picture, and painting outdoors is an opportunity to interact with our magical world. Over the course of just a few hours the shapes of patches of light and shadow slowly shift and change. Ann is challenged to to solve the mystery of arranging paint on a canvas to capture a special moment, in a way that strikes a chord with viewers. Ann will be in the gallery during most open hours, to share her experiences with you.
